The allspice (in spanish Pimienta Gorda) (Pimienta dioica), also known as Tabasco, Chiapa, Jamaica, guayabita, is an ingredient used in the gastronomy of Guatemala and the world. It has aromatic notes reminiscent of cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg and black pepper, which is why its name in English is allspice, alluding to all the spices.
